Synopsis of the Book in General

What the Book is About

Adam caused his separation from the Creator by eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Adam’s failure did not surprise God; He had plan for it as His designed creation. He sent forth His word (Lego, the Bible) and His intended meaning (Logos, His Son) His word is love and His love never fails. After all these yearsChristians still follow Adam's example and eat from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The people still poison with teachings that come for this knowledge. Their minds are turned against their Creator, as they apply their own meaning to His message. Like putting diesel fuel in a gasoline engine, they live outside the design God intended. When society fails, they blame God or worse proclaim there is no creator.

Like Adam who tried to fix his predicament with fig leaves, the teachings from this tree encourage people to overcome sin with efforts directed towards self-improvement by adding more knowledge. Such teachers weaken their disciples and poisons their thinking. The lies of Satan can be obviously out of line with God’s design or slightly off course because to be affective a lie does not need to work well, it only needs to be believable. All living human beings fall victim to the poison from this tree; for none decipher right from wrong correctly. The world's society cannot live without injuring another; no matter how hard they try, because the teaching from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil mis-leads them into man-centered thinking of selfishness. Even the good they try to do is false because its purpose is to improve them personally.

Jesus Christ lived perfectly because His motivation is love for others. His acts were always beneficial for those around Him. He never thinks of Himself but rather thinks of His people first. Even in judgment, He alway decides for the benfit of His people. His life became the path of our restoration and He made the life He lived available through His demonstration on the cross. He displayed a gracous love which He poured out of His heart onto evil men, who intended His harm. His Love was given based on the character of who He is and not character of the one He loves. He turned an instrument of death into a Tree of Life. Thus Jesus Christ opened the door which no one can shut, which is companionship with Him.

Knowing about the existance of a person is no the same as intimatly knowing the person. It is our experiantial knowledge of Jesus Christ’s love that I call the Tree of Life in this book. His Love causes our love for others to grow. Jesus Christ does not sin. Love does not sin. The life He lives in us is without sin. Why should we believe His sinless life is powerless? His sinless live can have great power over our sin as He lives in us. If all things are possible for God the Father, why should we teach that our committing sin is unavoidable or that He cannot cause us to overcome sin in this lifetime? If He conquers sin in our lives, it is not to our credit; for we did not conquer it but rather His love in us conquered it.

Here is a call to listen and understand what God is saying through Jesus Christ. We can understand His desires, we can know His expectation, and we can live as He designed us. More importantly we find the true treasure we store in heaven. It is the time we spent learning about and living with Jesus Christ. The more we learn the more we fall in love with Him; the more we see Him loving His people, the more we love Him. We learn to love people the way He loves us. And in doing so, join in Him in His demonstration of love for them. Since He lives in us and He is willing to sacirfice for their benefit, we should expect that He will call us to do the same. Not us but Christ in us.
